Hey everyone, I had to share this memory because my friends refuse to believe it — and honestly, I kind of get why. It sounds totally wild by today’s standards.
So picture this: before disposable diapers, scented wipes, diaper genies, and all the fancy baby gear existed, our parents were basically out here doing parenting on “expert mode.”
My mom (and probably a whole generation of moms and grandmas) had a diaper routine that feels like something straight out of a survival challenge.
She would rinse dirty cloth diapers — yep, those old-school ones — right in the toilet. Literally in the bowl.

She’d swish them around, wring them out with her bare hands, then toss them into the diaper pail until laundry day. I told my friends this and they nearly lost it. Meanwhile I’m like, “Yeah… that was just a normal day in my house.”
